Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki, loosely meaning “Divine wisdom” and “life force energy”. Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki works on different levels, re-establishing the normal flow of Ki (life force energy) throughout the body which will enhance and accelerate the body’s innate healing ability. This ancient Japanese method of healing uses energy to balance the body and mind.
What is the difference between a Reiki Massage and Reiki-only session?
Reiki Massage treatments are offered in 30 mins, 45 mins, 60 mins, 75 mins and 90 mins sessions. Your Reiki Massage session will begin and end with focused Reiki treatment. Allowing your body to begin the healing process on an energetic level. During your massage treatment, the therapist will incorporate Reiki into their massage techniques, enhancing the therapeutic effects and your overall well-being. You’ll still feel the great feeling and benefits of a massage treatment but it will be enhanced by a beautiful healing energy.
Reiki-only sessions are powerful and are offered in 30 min and 60 min sessions. During this session, you remain fully clothed and there is never any physical manipulation of the body. You and your practitioner will begin your session with setting intentions and relaxing your mind and body.
To administer Reiki, a practitioner channels life force energy through their hands. The life force energy enables the Reiki to flow through your energy field and affect negatively charged or blocked areas of your body with positive life force energy. This helps raise the vibration of the body and your awareness in and around the physical body where negative thoughts and feelings are contained. This causes the negative energy—such as stress, anxiety, physical pain, sadness, confusion, etc.—to loosen it’s grip, allowing the Reiki practitioner to re-establish harmony and balance within the body.
