Acupuncture in Calgary
Dr. Ken Tang has practised acupuncture, tuina and herbal medicine since 2004. Treatments are built around what you are dealing with, not a standard protocol.
About Dr. Ken Tang
Ken is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He completed the 4,200 hour program at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine after receiving his BSc from the University of Alberta, and has been treating patients since 2004.
His clinical focus includes infertility, both natural and through IVF and IUI cycles, sports injuries, back pain and anxiety. Treatments are customised to the person in front of him rather than run to a template, which is why the first appointment is longer and includes a full consultation.
Outside the clinic Ken swims, cycles, runs, fishes and golfs.
What acupuncture does
Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine dating back more than two thousand years. Very fine needles are placed at specific points to influence pain, tension and the body regulatory systems.
People most often come to us with persistent back pain, neck tightness or joint discomfort that has not responded to other approaches, often alongside the headaches and disturbed sleep that go with living in pain. Acupuncture is also used in support of fertility treatment, where it is timed around your cycle.
