How Peace of Mind Massage Therapy Centre collects, uses and protects your personal and health information.

What we collect

When you book an appointment we collect your name, contact details and the health information you give us on your consultation card, including medical conditions, injuries, allergies, medications and pregnancy. Your therapist adds treatment notes after each visit.

When you use this website we collect only what your browser sends in the ordinary course of loading a page. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

How we use it

Health information is used to plan and deliver safe treatment, and to maintain the clinical records that registered massage therapists are required to keep by their professional associations.

Contact details are used to manage your appointments. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except where you ask us to, or where we are required to by law.

Online bookings and gift certificate purchases are handled by our booking provider on their own systems. Payment card details are processed by them or by our in clinic payment terminal and are never stored by us.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses very few cookies, and none of them are used for advertising. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics tools on this site.

Your cookie choice. When you first visit, a notice asks about cookies. The tool that runs it stores a small cookie on your device to remember your choice, so the notice does not appear again on every page. You can change your choice at any time using the Manage consent tab at the bottom of the page.

Google Maps. The Location section of our home page includes an embedded Google Map. When a page with the map loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies. How Google handles that information is described in Google’s privacy policy.

Booking. The Book Now buttons take you to our booking provider’s website. Anything you enter there is handled by that provider under its own privacy policy, as described in “How we use it” above.

Links to other sites. Our footer links to social media pages. Those sites have their own cookie and privacy practices, and we do not control them.

Questions. If you have questions about cookies or about this policy, call the clinic on 403.452.7899 or speak to us at reception.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal and health information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask questions about how it is handled. Call the clinic on 403.452.7899 or speak to us at reception.

Clinical records are retained for the period required by the relevant professional association and applicable Alberta legislation, then securely destroyed.

This policy is reviewed periodically. If it changes materially we will update this page.
